Pastor Chris Owensby and First Lady Regina Owensby have been the lead pastors of Way of Life Ministries since 2000. Upon receiving Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord in 1983, a passion was placed within Chris's heart to be a difference maker and world changer. Immediately he began to pursue God and His plan for Chris' life even though he had no idea what that would entail. He poured himself into serving passionately in the local church in the early stages of his walk with God as an armor bearer to leadership. The pull and the call of God upon his life began to lead him in particular directions. A passion for evangelism became a Divine motivation within his life. He had a special place in his heart for the lost and those backslidden in their faith. That fire was put there by God, and he had to know why.  He discovered it only when he sought God.  The Lord also began to teach him about the necessity of revival, restoration and renewal and ways to attain that beyond the religious norm.

This call of God turned into national and international evangelistic travel of revivals, crusades, camp meetings, conferences, and youth camps. It was at one of these revival meetings where he met his wife Regina who has become a major part of this ministry as well. Together they began to pursue a new passion the Lord added to Chris' heart: a passion to strengthen homes and marriages. As a result, Chris and Regina began holding marriage conferences together, and individually ministering in men’s and women’s conferences.

In 2000, they launched Way of Life, a local impact church with a passion to also make a global effect. Chris and Regina invite you to join our congregation for Praise, worship, and God's word spoken every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening! When you give God a chance, he can change everything!

Way of Life Core Beliefs:

JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1,14, 20:28; I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; I Timothy 2:5).

THE TRINITY

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and co-eternal (I John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11).

THE VIRGIN BIRTH

Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Father, through the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity) in the virgin Mary’s womb; therefore, He is the Son of God (Matthew 1:18, 25; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:27-35).

THE BIBLE

The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26).

THE SEPARATION OF GOD AND MAN (SIN)

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. (Gen. 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21, John 6:44, 65; Matthew 19:28; Titus 3:5)

SALVATION

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and a fresh start with God, we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus, and commit to His will for our lives. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22, Acts 2:21, 3:19; I John 1:9).

THE CHURCH

The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ Great Commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23).

THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

Given at Pentecost, it is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth (Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5,2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6).

DIVINE HEALING

We believe that this is provided for all those who receive through faith in Jesus Christ as our healer. We believe in healing that begins at the very moment. We also believe in the miraculous healing power of God. (Isaiah 53:5, I Peter 2:24, Mark 16:18, James 5:14-15)

HEAVEN

Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:3, 12, 20, 6:20, 19:21, 25:34; John 17:24; II Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; I Peter 1:4).

HELL

After living one life on earth, the unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally tormented with the Devil and the Fallen Angels. The greatest torment is eternal separation from God. (Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8).

THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures (Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; I Thessalonians 4:15-17; II Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7)

Sacraments:

WATER BAPTISM

Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus’ mighty name. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48).

THE LORD’S SUPPER (HOLY COMMUNION)

A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and the fruit of the vine (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross (Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25).

MARRIAGE

We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God (Matthew 19:4-6).

A Ministry Pressing Toward the Upward Call

Most of us go through those seasons in our life when we say, “How long Lord?” Are you tired of the same pressures and problems that confront you on a daily basis? Then you are ready for a change. Are you tired of living in the land of not enough or just enough? Then you’re ready to press forward with your life.
Paul wrote in Philippians 3:14, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” King Jesus paid far too high a price for us to choose a low way of living. God’s Word navigates a path in this life toward victory for all individuals who choose to press toward Him. It is our desire to help you find God’s best for you in this new millennium. He loves you and is interested in every aspect of your life.
The church family at Way of Life Ministries is very concerned about people who are hurting and desperately need the Lord. We are committed to the task of helping fulfill the Great Commission of Christ. We want to reach people through the power of God’s Love. We want to be part of the answer and not part of the problem.
We invite you to become part of this labor of love. Come and experience the difference.

Our Vision in Motion

Habakkuk 2:2 “Then the Lord answered me and said: Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.”

  • Striving to be a soul-winning, harvest, and impact Church.
  • To always be a Bible preaching, teaching, victorious living Church.
  • The kind of Church that puts strong emphasis on prayer, praise and worship to God.
  • A Church with a “present truthapproach that is meeting needs and reaching people who have not been reached. (a Church that is part of the answer and not part of the problem)
  • To always be a Church full of love and compassion for all people, realizing there is a real world with real people who have real problems that need real answers.
  • Because we are the kingdom of God, we are an ever growing multi-ethnic Church that embraces people of all ethnic backgrounds. A Church that believes in unity through diversity letting our differences make us stronger and not weaker.
  •  A mission minded Church at home and abroad realizing that what we make happen for others, God will make happen for us. A Church that takes the Great Commission to heart motivated with a divine “Go” directing us toward world evangelization.
  • A networking Church that realizes one cannot multiply, but understands the necessity that each member of the body fulfills their vital role.
  • We are an equipping Church. We realize our greatest assets are our people. Therefore we strive to teach and train every member to do the work of the ministry, empowering others to help build the Kingdom of God.
  •  A ministry with a vision to win the world no matter what the cost, be it through drama, radio, television, printed page, whatever means the Holy Spirit makes available to share the Gospel in a way that all people can understand it.
  • A ministry that teaches people that true Christianity is to be a way of life, placing high priority on integrity, character, and the grace to pursue a lifestyle of purity. A ministry that realizes in order to effectively proclaim truth, we must pursue it as well as speak it. We believe it’s Gods desire that our lives become the message in order that we can reap the harvest and impact others.
  • A Church that loves one another intentionally and is in unity intentionally receiving an anointing to work together in order that we might destroy the yoke of bondage from this generation and setting them free.
